Shiba Inu Partners with IWB to Support Women in Blockchain

The partnership began with the recently-introduced fund launched by Shytoshi Kusama to bolster female participation in blockchain.

Shiba Inu’s Metaverse project has formed a new partnership with the International Women of Blockchain (IWB) and NowPayments. The goal of this collaboration is to promote the active engagement of women in the blockchain industry across all domains. The partnership began with the recently-introduced fund launched by Shiba Inu project lead Shytoshi Kusama.

IWB announced the latest collaboration in an official press release Thursday. According to the press release, the partnership’s objective is to promote gender diversity in the Web3 scene by incentivizing and encouraging women participation. Moreover, the initiative aims to foster diversity in all aspects of the field, beyond just gender.

Per information from a Forbes report, a study from December 2021 revealed that only 5 out of the 141 crypto-focused entities surveyed had female founders, underscoring the need for female participation in the sector.

The International Women of Blockchain conference is an assertive and dynamic event that takes place during Women’s History Month. It is a hybrid conference that focuses on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Web3 blockchain industry.

NowPayments is a non-custodial payment gateway that allows businesses and individuals to accept crypto payments in a fast and secure manner. It supports over 160 assets, including Bitcoin, Shiba Inu and Ethereum. The partnership will leverage NowPayments as a conduit for further contributions. A NowPayments donation button has already been embedded on the IWB website.

The partnership was initiated with the fund recently introduced by Shytoshi Kusama. As previously reported, the fund, which was initially aimed at empowering female participation in Shibarium, started with Kusama’s personal $25,000 contribution.

Following contributions from several entities, including NFA Labs, Marcie Jastrow, Lisa Watts Sherri Cuono and Unification, the fund now boasts $50,000. This resulting partnership will attempt to bolster the Shibwomen numbers.

Kusama recently called attention to the collaboration, emphasizing its significance to the growth of the Shiba Inu community, especially in terms of female participation.

“As a female CEO, I am excited and honored to have this chance to help onboard more women to blockchain, as well as spread awareness around those already there. It’s great to see our donation solution making waves in the SHIB community,” Xena Kash, CEO at NowPayments, remarked.
